You may get a chance to sample local fare including refreshing coconut water and other fruit in season. The scenery is peaceful yet exciting as the road winds upward. The view will take your breath away and weather permitting you will be able to see the tallest mountain in St. Lucia, Morne Gimie, standing at a commanding 3,200 feet tall.
The next stop is for a fifteen-minute hike (either way) to a beautiful waterfall surrounded by lush vegetation before proceeding to a natural river pool for a refreshing swim. It is then on to the fishing village of Anse la Raye where restroom facilities are available. Take a few minutes and explore the village visiting the historic Roman Catholic Church or the waterfront where you may get a chance to see fishermen taking in the catch of the day. From there, it's back to the jeeps for a half an hour scenic return trip. (Your jeeps come stocked with soft drinks, water and rum punch or beers.)
